Bergquist developed the exclusive HeatSeal process to allow design engineers to design membrane switches into almost any environment. HeatSeal allows switches to operate under water, in dust and dirt, in high and low temperature extremes, and in critical-reliability environments such as medical where harsh cleaners are commonly used.

Ultra Harsh Environment Application

When approached with solving a "stinky situation," Bergquist came out smelling like a rose. The challenge was to find a membrane switch that could be totally immersed without jeopardizing the internal circuitry. The solution was a Bergquist membrane switch used in the customer's laser leveling device allowing it to travel through sewer pipes without failure

A major spa manufacturer approached Bergquist for a harsh-environment membrane switch that could withstand extremes in both temperature and humidity. The Bergquist HeatSeal switch solved their problems.
